It is November 8th, 2006. Angela Petrelli is stalking the corridors of the Primatech facility in Hartsdale, New York. With protective gloves and a mask on, she makes her way into the safe where the only vial of the deadly Shanti virus is being held. Holding it with extreme care, she places it into her bag in a protective case and takes the lift to the lab on the third floor. As she gets out the vial to experiment and produce the results to current head of the Company, the small information screen changes to the news. The headline reads; Nuclear Bomb Explodes Above Kirby Plaza, and Angela stares at it in shock. She gasps, and realises that Nathan had ruined Linderman and Angela's plans, and in her shock, she drops the vial she is holding. She does not realise, until she coughs, asphyxiated in seconds.

And then the apocalypse begins.

Three years later, Claire Bennet, the only survivor from the New York incident because of the catalyst in her blood, the only known protection against the virus, is living in the safe haven of Odessa, one of the lucky places that had Company branch to contain the virus and protect the inhabitants. With all the Heroes dead, Claire realises that there could be a new generation of the Heroes that could help save the world again after the catastrophe.

But as Claire and many other people know, there's a very fine line between hero and villain...
