alex walked to the deserted primatech. she stood in front of the tall building and sighed. she was wearing a dark navy-blue jacket, black pants, and boots that hardly went up to her knees. she remembered the week she went missing just so they could use her. she was hardly 11 years old. after she first realized she can read minds and send telepathic messages to other people…put thoughts in their heads. change their minds. she stared at it and tried to remember what the inside looked like. she didn't remember a lot. most of it was a blur. all she remembered was a man with horn-rimmed glasses. i guess when something like that happens to you, it sticks with you for a long time. she walked to the entrance and stepped inside primatech, watching her footsteps just incase she didn’t trip over anything. sure, it would be a short fall, but she tried her best to avoid getting hurt.
primatech wasn’t exactly empty. as a matter of fact, everything was still there. at least, the paper factory part of the building. the electricity was still on, too. maybe it was running on a generator. she glared around. she didn’t exactly remember this part of primatech. probably because she never saw it. that would make more sense. she then spotted on the floor a plastic card. she bent down to pick it up. she examined the card. it looked like a member card. she looked up and wondered what it could go to. she then spotted a door with a black card slider next to it. it was easy to tell it was a card slider because the two small lights on the side. one red and one green. she walked quickly to the door. she looked down at the card and hoped that if she slid it through the slot, the door would open. she then slid it through the card detector.
before she knew it, the light turned green. she smiled. it worked and the door slid open. she stuffed the card into her jacket pocket. she then slowly walked through the open doorway. it looked as if it had just been remodeled. she glanced carefully at the doors with labels near or on them. all referring to paper, or offices. She then came to another door that was locked. she unlocked it the same way she did with the 1st door. she looked inside and this time…the setting was duller than before. way much duller. this must have been a secret area. she looked around. there was rooms with…it looked like files. the research/file room? she then came across an area she recognized a bit more. It looked like a lab. ‘did they experiment on me!?’ she thought to herself. she ran into the room. she hated the fact that she remembered the room they stuck her in.
alex then noticed a drawer and when she saw it, she had a flashback of the haitian (the man with the horn-rimmed glasses man) sticking a file in there. she carefully dropped to her knees and opened the drawer. what seemed to her looked like a thousand files. all in order by the first letter of the last name. she then scanned threw the files. she saw names like these: parkman, matt; grey, gabriel; petrelli, peter; nakamura, hiro; and so much more. But the one last name that mattered most to her was williams, alex. she pulled out her file. She scanned through it. It said almost everything about her. It even had a photo of her. It was from her middle school yearbook. She rolled her eyes. “great. they obviously knew what school I went to….” she said to herself. she shook her head and closed the folder that had every little detail about her inside.
then she began to think…she thought about if she should take her file with her…or just leave here. She decided to take it. she quickly stood up and walked out of the examination room. as she was about to enter the paper factory part of primatech, she then heard someone’s thoughts. she couldn’t recognize the voice. she then turned around and quickly made her way to the cells. She didn’t know where to go. She then had no choice….she had to go inside one of the cells. it was a super bad idea, but she had no other choice. she tried to look for one that wouldn’t be able to lock her inside. she then spotted a cell with a broken window. so she hopped through the window and ducked below it in a corner. it was darker in the inside. and thanks to her height and size, you can hardly see her in the darkness.

Katrina dismounted her bicycle, the navy blue shine reflecting the sunlight as it sank onto the horizon. If her sources were correct, this was Primatech, a company which was a so called paper factory. She had learned from so called reliable people that this was where most people that were...special were filed with every single detail about them in the large labryinth it was. This was the reason she was here. If Katrina could find something out about her parents, if they knew Katrina could control fire, there would be a lot of explainations cleared. Hopefully she was going to achieve that this twilight evening.
Apparently as rumours had gone, the buisness had shut down which probably meant Katrina had free access. "Probably..." Katrina repeated her thoughts aloud as she pushed a metal door open. Surprisingly, all the lights and machines were still running so there had been no use at all for the torch in her rugsack. The atmosphere was empty and cold, Katrina was glad she had bothered to put on some sensible clothing. Her footsteps echoed along the hallways as she paced them. The files would have been deeper into the building, more hidden and safe. That was going to be the problem of her mini quest. How was she going to locate the files? Taking a left down another corridor, Katrina descended some stairs and took the left option again.
Coming to a halt, Katrina listened to see if there were any signs of life still apart from electricity. The hum of the machines behind her carried a bit to her ears but there seemed to be the flicking of some papers. A photocopier perhaps? Following the sound of the paper, Katrina walked quieter this time, putting one converse after the other along the bare floor. A door was wide open, inside seemed to be a kind of science laboratory. "What is this kind of place?" Her words echoed her thoughts and peering inside the door, Katrina called out. "Hello? Is anyone here?"

[ooc - zomg, anissa! when did you suddenly get epically amazing at roleplay? keep it up darling! <3]
Claire sneered as she wandered down the corridor of the old Primatech with many a dirty insult swimming round in hr mind. Feeling emotionally stripped, with just dusty cobwebs and a powerful torch for company, and of course the omnipresent blue iPod with the cracked screen, ready to serve her at any moment necessary. Claire couldn't live without music, and her iPod was like a little extension of her body. If Claire was an action figure, the little accessories you could buy for action figures would be a little blue iPod. Smiling slightly at her strange train of thought, Claire continued down the corridor, her Converse sneakers making light clip-clop sounds on the neatly tiled floor. The place still had an air of the seventies about it; looking like a scene out of Grey's Anatomy. Despite the fact that nobody was around, Claire still had the feeling she was being watched; and so she gripped her torch harder and turned it up as high as it would go, leaving a long line of light along the shadowy corridor. Feeling slightly numbed from the haunting memories that filled Claire's head incessantly from being in this place, Claire felt a little strange, yet still completely normal, a very strange reaction, almost like she'd taken a whole syringe of placebo drugs. Meh, Placebo... thought Claire blearily, and smiled faintly as Sleeping With Ghosts ran through her head. Claire hadn't listened to that song in ages, and she whistled the tune quietly under her breath as she walked along the corridor, altering the angle of the torch as she did so. Dry your eyes, soulmates never die...
Stopping at a storeroom, Claire could tell that she wasn't alone. Someone else had been her before she had; files littered the floor, most of which she recognised, such as Nakamura, Hiro, and Petrelli, Peter. Claire scowled instantaneously. Fucking prying bumholes! thought Claire sullenly, or words to that effect. It didn’t take a genius to figure out that Claire’s file would most certainly be amongst these files, yet some part of Claire didn’t want to reach over to the gargantuan filing cabinet labelled ‘Files A-G’ and find the file sporting Claire’s name. There were some things you weren’t meant to know, and Claire knew that if she gave into the temptation of looking through her own file and seeing how much information the Company had ever had on Claire, that Claire’s dark side would take over, and add destruction of the remains of the Company building to her list of crimes and misendeavours. However, the temptation proved too strong, and Claire yanked open the drawer of the filing cabinet. The bottom drawer of the filing cabinet had already been opened by someone other than herself, but Claire was so wrapped up in her own rage and self-indulgence that she couldn’t be bothered to play super sleuth. Picking up her file and flicking through it absently, Claire trembled as she saw the disgusting yearbook picture from her dismal experience of ninth grade, her dishevelled hair tied back into two messy pigtails, with a wide grin showing off all of her train-track braces. Claire scowled at the picture, yet she was still trembling from fear and rage. The Company had known about her all this time? Even before her ability had manifested? Claire was only fourteen in this picture, and she was still being ‘bagged and tagged’ even then. Claire suddenly felt a large pang of guilt. Not so long ago, Claire had wanted to fight the bad guys, join the Company for what she believed was the ‘greater good’, but now Claire saw that all the Company were was plain evil, intrusive and sickening. Dropping her file and kicking the large file cabinet in rage, feeling numb as she did so, Claire wheeled out of the storeroom quickly, and ran along the corridor, her pulse rising considerably.
As she wandered down the corridor, Claire found herself staring at the face of many glassy bullet proof cells; her reflection staring remotely back at her with a glassy expression and harsh eyes. Sneering in distaste, Claire moved along and realised that one of the cells was open, and she frowned, her brow furrowed. I thought Primatech were meant to be big on security, not leaving cell doors open for people to break out... or break in... Claire thought, her mind wandering as she entered the cell, propping the door open with her foot. She could see at least one shadowy figure, however as she was silent, she could hear two sets of breathing. In the cell, Claire approached the other figure that she could see, but on the way tripped over another that was crouching. Scowling, Claire got to her feet, and saw a little light bounce off something red... red hair, and Claire didn’t need telling that her spunky friend Alex was in the cell with her. Looking up at the petite figure still standing that she’d heard call out distantly earlier, Claire furrowed her brow to figure out who it was. Then it hit her. Katrina!
“Alex! Katrina!” Claire called, happiness in her voice for once. Claire didn’t want to run into any random strangers tonight. “It’s me, Claire! What are you guys doing here?”
[ooc – okay, this is utter shite, epic fail for me. *sigh* anyways, do you guys all want to get trapped in the cell or something? we could devise a break-out plan, could bring some drama... idk, XD]

[ooc - practice thnx, cat. hehe yeah totally! i'm down with it. that's the best idea i've heard of yet on here. high-five, cat!]
Alex hid her face and held her breath when she heard someone fall down. When she peeked out of a area above her arm, she then saw that Claire was there, but that couldn't of been the person with the voice she heard. She let out a breath in relief. Alex smiled when Claire said her name. She jumped to her feet and looked at Claire then peeked her head around to see Katrina. She glazed back at Claire and smiled kindly. "Claire. Wow, am i surprised to see you. I was just passing by and of course, i had to come in here and check this place out...What about you guys?"
Even though Alex had never really met Katrina before, why not make a new friend by starting a conversation? Yet, what a strange place primatech was to make a friend in. A dark, scary, old, abandoned place or "paper factory". (ooc - hehe, kind of a long sentence) She hoped they wouldn't get in the conversation of the laboratory type area. It would just make her a bit paranoid and a lot scared. Alex was tiny, and could be easily scared. She would eventually end up hiding behind Claire. She was so much taller than short Alex.
As she waited for a reply, she began to think for a bit about her ability. Alex had completely no intention of reading their minds, but there was this type of urge Alex always had around people. Though, she was used to not reading Claire's mind. She was used to her. Plus, Alex promised herself she wouldn't ever try to read Claire's thoughts. They were very good friends and hung out a lot now. Yet, Katrina...no promises at the moment. Since they're only strangers to each other.

[[OOC ~ I am so sorry for the late reply! Seriously, I'll repay you any way I can, Cat, that's included with your birthday vi- present]]
Katrina walked over the threshold of the doorway, being cautious. Hopefully no-one had been camping out here for their home. She wasn't too good with strangers to be honest and if someone did appear, they would frighten the hell out of her. As her brown eyes wondered around her surroundings, Katrina had to blink to make sure what she thought she saw wasn't a delusion. There seemed to be some sort of rooms, the front that faced her held at glass screen, probably breakable if Katrina tried. "What on earth actually went on here?" She asked, keeping her thoughts to herself.
Katrina paced along a bit further, stopping as she peered into one of the cells. A moment passed as she let her thoughts run but then turned suddenly. It sounded like someone had tripped onto the hard floor. There was someone else in the building, oh great. It was just what she needed. As she approached the source of the sound cautiously, Katrina sighed in relief as she heard a familiar voice. "Alex! Katrina!" Claire's cheerful voice echoed against the walls. "It's me, Claire! What are you guys doing here?" Now that...how was Katrina supposed to answer that but Katrina narrowed her eyes to try and see through the darkness.
She looked at the two girls on the floor, a slight smile appearing on Katrina's pale face. Alex was obviously the unfamiliar person with bright red hair. "Nice hair," her thoughts smiled, "Someone likes Paramore." Perhaps she could make a new friend this night? Was Alex one of them? It didn't really matter, it seemed that she could be trusted as Claire was obviously on good terms with her. As Alex turned her head towards herself, Katrina gave her a smile and sat down beside them, not wanting to feel left out for once. That was a change in her personality. Who knew that turning into the human torch could do that? "Claire. Wow, am I surprised to see you. I was just passing by and of course, I had to come in here and check this place out... What about you guys?"
There was that question again, 'What are you guys doing here?', Claire's previous sentence echoed in her head. They wouldn't mind her snooping around an old abandoned paper factory that was really a secret base for some sort of special company, would she? She just wanted to know exactly who she was. "Well...I'm trying to find my file." Katrina began, hopefully sounding casual. "I heard from someone that this was the right place." She looked from Claire to Alex, and then back again as she spoke. It was the truth, Katrina wasn't going to lie anymore. At least not infront of people who were similiar, had powers like herself. "And you Claire?"

[ooc; kay, I’m going to start with an apology. I haven’t posted in forever, but that’s mainly down to the fact that I really don’t like roleplaying as Claire anymore. I loathe her in the latest series, and she just vexes me. Even Hayden isn’t my favourite actress anymore. But it’s not all doom and gloom! I might be changing my character soon... and anyway, I’ve finally posted! Hopefully this should bring a little drama to the thread...XD]
Claire couldn’t help but blush; she was normally a very well balanced person gifted with incredible poise, but tonight, everything seemed to be crashing down. Her past, her emotions, and...her body. As she looked up, calling her friends’ names, Claire wondered what on earth two of her best friends were doing around her at the same time that she was. Was there something to be said for friendly telepathy? Claire snorted. Telepathy really wasn’t weird if you were standing next to Alex Williams. Grinning as she lay on the floor looking every inch the retard, it was only then that she noticed the irony of the moment. In one tiny little closed cell, there was Alex, the mind-reader, Katrina, the human torch... and Claire... the miracle-gro. Claire thought with a grudging smile.
As Claire rose to her feet, brushing off the dirt from her red vest top, she couldn’t help but notice the tense atmosphere that lay in the room. Katrina and Alex had never met, and as Katrina asked Claire a question, Claire couldn’t help but notice that Katrina was talking directly to Claire, instead of introducing herself to the other girl in the room. Then again, at least Katrina was being the mature one by even speaking; Alex was looking very distinctly at Katrina with her arms folded, deep concentration on her face. No doubt Alex was trying to read Katrina’s mind, which reminded Claire to shut up her thoughts for a while too. Trying half-heartedly to smile, Claire extended her arms as she answered Katrina’s question. “Really? Well, for me it’s more of a trip down memory lane, but I happened to find my file here too...” Claire’s voice trailed off. Do. Not. Get. Me. Started. On. The Company. Claire silently willed Katrina. Closing off her mind again, Claire smiled, her face a new canvas. “Anyway, Katrina, this is Alex. She goes to school with me, and she’s one of us...” Claire knew Katrina would know instantly what Claire was talking about. “A... telepath.” Claire blushed slightly, like it wasn’t her secret to tell. Feeling slightly guilty, Claire wandered aimlessly around the cell, willing the silence to end.
Claire furrowed her brow. Something wasn’t right in here, and Claire didn’t need telling that something had gone wrong. Thinking back through her train of thought, Claire’s mind instinctively wandered back to the irony of having three people with abilities locked in a cell together. Wait. Claire thought, her mouth dropping open. LOCKED? Trying not to alarm the others, she pulled down on the handle subtly, and just as she’d expected, it remained rigid. Gasping as she realised that the only thing keeping the door open had been her foot, and that when she fell, her foot had moved... Oh God. Claire thought, the colour draining from her face. Oh God, God, please no! No! Claire was notoriously claustrophobic, and being trapped inside a cell was her idea of hell. All efforts of hiding her fear were thrown out of the window as she scrabbled for the door handle. Pulling it with all her might, Claire tried to contain her small sobs of fear that were creating lumps in her throat and a hole in her chest. Tugging harder and harder, Claire grinned as she heard the door-handle rattle. She was going to make it out of here, she was. She didn’t care about Alex or Katrina, she just wanted to know that she was safe. Smiling as the door-handle gave one last rattling crack, she realised that her pulling wasn’t opening the door, just...pulling the handle off... Oh great, Claire thought as she fell over backwards on her rear, the door handle clasped tightly in her hand. Claire felt bile rising to her mouth and sweat running down her face, and as she rolled over, her back facing the door, she hit her head on the glassy door three times, each time hurting more than the one before it. I’m not getting out of here... I’m not getting out of here... I’m not... filled Claire’s head. This was a dire situation, and she felt very light-headed, as if she was almost going to pass out. Trying to breathe deeply, her hands scrabbling on the floor trying to find something to hold on to, Claire hoped that the others would catch her when she fell out of consciousness. It was going to happen soon, and she needed to be ready for when it happened.

she shrugged. alex wasn't really looking for her file. she thought maybe she would find something unexpected, and not pleasant. so, she decided to leave her file alone along time ago, plus she thought maybe there was something else katrina wasn't telling her. so, she kind of read her mind. she didn't go in too far. to her deepest secrets. that wouldn't be so nice. alex stayed quiet for a while, her arms crossed. you can hardly tell she was actually and literally in the room with them.
alex let out a breath when claire told katrina she was one of them. that must've meant katrina had an ability too. alex smiled at katrina. "you have an ability? what is it?" alex was curious and she talked a bit fast. she was just a bit excited. it wasn't everyday you met someone with an ability other than your own. actually, alex hadn't met another telepath. she has always been hoping to soon.
when alex was talking to katrina, she noticed something was the matter. claire was acting a bit strange. it began to bug alex. she could tell by claire's expression, something was wrong, very wrong. alex kept her eye on claire. "claire, what's wrong?" when claire didn't answer alex began to get more worried. it seemed claire was in a mind of her own. alex just needed to...she had to...she read claire's mind. she then realized the door...it was sealed shut.
alex got out of claire's mind and ran over to the door. she looked at claire. "please, please....don't tell me the door's locked." she read claire's mind again. 'i’m not getting out of here... i’m not getting out of here... i’m not...' filled claire’s head. alex shook her head at the thought and noticed claire wasn't looking so good. "claire? are you okay?" alex had to know if something was wrong with claire so she read her mind, just in-case claire was gonna puke or something.
alex realized claire was claustrophobic. she took a few steps back and whispered to katrina. "be ready to catch her...she's claustrophobic...she might faint and..." alex looked down at her small body. "...i don't think i can catch her myself." she explained. she hoped that claire wouldn't fall. she walked up to her. "maybe you should like...lay down or something, claire." she suggested. that way claire wouldn't fall and crack her head open then regenerate. that wouldn't be such a pretty sight.

Sensing the tone in Claire's voice, Katrina decided to shut up. It was probably a sensitive topic and both Alex and Claire would know a whole lot more about the Company than she did. Perhaps too much if she looked at the way Claire was acting. Katrina gave Alex a small smile, raising her hand slightly in greeting but then dropped it once Claire mentioned about Alex being a telepath. Luckily, she had read up about a few powers and therefore knew Alex could read minds. That was . . . a bit embarrasing. "You can read minds? Lucky..." Katrina half joked, knowing that it must have been a pain sometimes to hear everyone's thoughts. Sort of like a female version of Edward Cullen.
"You have an ability? What is it?" Alex asked and Katrina noted the excitement in her voice. Her power wasn't that amazing, just being able to burn everything you touched could cause some problems. Raising her hand again after rolling up her jacket sleeve, Katrina let a bright scarlet flame light along her pale skin, hoping that Alex wouldn't notice how her eyes had changed also to the same brilliant red. She held the flame for a few seconds but then extingushed it, keeping eye contact with the telepath. "I would say yours is a lot better." Katrina smiled at her again, meaning it. "You don't have the liability to destroy everything you see. It was such a strange place, in the middle of a cell to make friends that were so similar to yourself. Even if it was about midnight. Katrina had never been on a sleepover.
After discussing with Alex, her normal dark brown eyes wandered over to Claire, who was fiddling with the door. Hoping that she was alright, Katrina stood up and cautiously walked over to where both the other girls stood now. Watching Claire closely, Katrina bit down on her lip. She was claustrophobic. That was too obvious, her mother had had the same frame of mind and Katrina's eyes widened as she heard the door handle break. Quickly, Katrina removed the backpack that was on her and removed a small bottle of water. It normally helped but in some cases it didn't and on her first aid course, they certainly didn't cover this. "Be ready to catch her...she's claustrophobic...she might faint and..." Katrina watched Alex look at herself and understood. "I don't think I can catch her myself." That was self explanitory, Katrina was no larger than Alex but without realizing it, she was a tiny bit taller than Alex. That was the first in a long while, a really long while. How old was Alex?
Gripping back onto reality, Katrina dismissed her happiness about being shorter and followed Alex as she went to Claire. "Maybe you should like...lay down or something, Claire." She had suggested but Katrina knew that that was the last thing Claire wanted to do. She just wanted to get out. Her eyes switched to where the broken door was and then back to Claire, worry starting to fill her. Kneeling down beside the blonde girl, Katrina gently unfurled the fingers gripping onto the broken handle and placed it on the floor behind her. Do everything simply and calmly, that's what her father had told her. But then again that was a long time ago as well, even if it was stuck in her head from the numerous times they had had to be stuck in a plane or lift.
Putting the bottled water beside Claire, open if she wanted it, Katrina looked at her in the eyes, trying to make Claire look back but not forcingly. That would just scare them even more. "Okay, Claire. Keep breathing and repeat after me." She gave her a small reassuring smile, hoping what she was going to say next was true. "We're going to get out." Katrina smiled again before glancing back at Alex, wondering how she could read minds and hopefully get the message. -I'm going to move Claire to the other side of the room, can you try and open the door after that?-

Teetering precariously close to the end of her tether, Claire strained her eyes open. No way was she passing out. No frickin' way. That much she knew. Closing her eyes for a split second to get her bearings, she opened them again, and subconsciously heard Alex ask something, that sounded something like ""Be ready to catch her...she's claustrophobic...she might faint and I don't think I can catch her myself." Alex paused for a minute, and then suggested "Maybe you should like...lay down or something, Claire." Claire couldn't help but roll her eyes at that remark. Sure, that'll help. Claire thought sarkily. Because I'm not practically comatose on the floor already. Claire scowled, not caring if Alex heard the tone of sarcasm in Claire's thoughts or not.
Getting her bearings a little more as the blurriness of her eyesight slowly sharpened, her view was blocked by someone sitting down in front of her. It looked like Katrina, but Claire couldn't be sure, until a familiar voice kindly said "Okay, Claire. Keep breathing and repeat after me." Definitely Katrina, thought Claire. The rational one. Claire followed Katrina's instructions, breathing in and out slowly. Claire could vaguely remember first aid class... what was it? In for 4, out for 4? Everything was spinning... Claire couldn't even tell which way was up and which was down, let alone something so distant as first aid training. "We're going to get out." Katrina smiled wryly at Claire before turning to face Alex, who was evidently trying to pick up on Katrina's thoughts. Claire really hoped that what Katrina had said would come true. Otherwise, who knew how long they would have to spend in here? After all, the paper factory was abandoned...
Noticing the bottle of water that Katrina had subtly placed at Claire’s feet, Claire picked it up in her shaky hands, and instead of sipping it, she had a stroke of inspiration. She turned the already open bottle with her wrist, and it poured in torrents all over Claire’s body and face. Shivering, Claire shrieked with the cold; yet somehow it made her instantly more alert and for some reason... less paranoid. Her smile less queasy this time, Claire pondered on what her father would have done if he was stuck in here. After all, he was here when these cells were built. Surely he would know how to get out of them, right? Claire pushed her long fringe behind her ears as she thought deeply; in the background, she noticed Katrina and Alex conversing over something that Claire didn’t know about; or care about at this moment in time. All she knew was that they needed to get out of here, and Claire’s dad hadn’t been a Company agent for nothing. She had an idea, that hopefully would get them out of here as soon as possible,
“W-wait!” Claire said, her voice quiet and cracked from the lack of use, saliva blocking her throat. “I think I have an idea... my dad said that the glass in the cells are bullet-proof; so basically, bashing down the door is not an option, even if I could heal after doing so.” Claire’s voice was growing in confidence; hopefully the other two could help repair the missing pieces of her flawed plan. “But, even glass can be melted, right? Katrina could heat up the glass, and maybe when it’s a bit softer, I could jump though it and smash it...” Claire’s voice trailed off. This was such a crap plan. Claire rolled her eyes. “But of course, this is all a bit temperamental, and it might not work. Do you guys have any other suggestions for an escape plan?”
[ooc; sorry, i’ve got a flu-y type virus atm and i’m not really up to roleplaying... so sorry that this is so short!]

alex got katrina's mind-message and nodded slightly. she then heard claire's thoughts. they were very different from katrina's thoughts. it seemed claire was a bit hopeless at the moment, but she then heard her sarcasm and she didn't take it so serious as she normally would, but they were trapped inside a deserted cell with no one to help them out. so, alex would basically have to take pretty much everything serious at the moment. well, almost everything.
alex thought of ways to get out. since she can only read minds, she had nothing to do to save them. the plans in her head really focused on katrina and claire. she couldn't think of anything but pushing against the door with all of their strength....that wouldn't work out so well, though. three girls with one extra-small one...not such a good idea.
alex then heard claire's idea involving heat and claire bursting through the window. very interesting. 'not such a bad idea.' alex thought. but they were of course going to have to think of the bad side to it. "alright...but what happens if it gets too hot in here? we could all suffacate...and what if the window doesn't brake? after all you said it's bullet-proof...what if fire and heat have no effect on it?" alex asked. they were good questions, for one of them might be true.

Seeing that Alex had got her message, Katrina turned back to Claire glad to see that she was trying to breathe normally. Well...trying, would be what Claire was thinking. At least all three of them weren't claustrophobic otherwise they would all be stuck. Why was it always Katrina that looked on the strange brightside of all the situations she happened to stumble on? Watching Claire carefully, her brown eyes observed as she picked up the water bottle and then suddenly without any warning at all, splashed it over herself, leaving the container half empty. Katrina jumped back slightly, not wanting to get any water on herself, reminding her mind that she had put ice in it earlier. She had noted in the back of her mind that water limited her use of using fire. There was no possible way to make ice in an oven. The same rules applied to Katrina but the other way around. Oxygen and no rain. Well, any water for that matter.
Glad to see she was water free, Katrina looked up at Claire on hearing her voice, quieter than it usually was. "W-wait!" She moved back towards Claire again, hoping she was alright. We didn't need her fainting, three brains were better than two. “I think I have an idea... my dad said that the glass in the cells are bullet-proof; so basically, bashing down the door is not an option, even if I could heal after doing so.” Katrina noted her spark coming back into her voice and she sighed gently in relief, her shoulders dropping. She couldn't tell where on earth this was going, but hopefully it was somewhere good. Hopefully. “But, even glass can be melted, right? Katrina could heat up the glass, and maybe when it’s a bit softer, I could jump though it and smash it...” Still watching Claire as she rolled her eyes, Katrina shifted slightly on the floor. “But, even glass can be melted, right? Katrina could heat up the glass, and maybe when it’s a bit softer, I could jump though it and smash it...”
To be honest, it wasn't a bad plan, but on looking at Claire who was suffering at the fact she was in an enclosed space wasn't the best time for her to be jumping through a glass panel, even if she was indestructable. "Alright...but what happens if it gets too hot in here? we could all suffocate...and what if the window doesn't break? After all you said it's bullet-proof...what if fire and heat have no effect on it?" Alex's voice from behind Katrina said and she half turned to look at her. She was right, Katrina would probably be fine and they didn't know how far on the line of injuries that Claire could go. Alex was only a mind reader, she didn't want to suffocate her due to lack of oxygen. Katrina didn't even know if she could heat up all of the glass panel anyway. Remaining silent, Katrina glanced at Claire before climbing to her feet. As she walked over to the pane, her head moved slightly to one side in thought. Why hadn't she paid more attention in Science? A smile grew on her face as she remembered her lesson on genetic engineering. -Stupid frog...- Shaking her head to concentrate, Katrina's eyes went back into focus on the transparent glass as she pressed her hand against it. Letting a flame light in the palm of her hand, she held it there for a few seconds, feeling the glass melt beside her hand. Watching the glass, she removed her hand as the pane cooled down again.
"It...might work." Katrina flexed her hand once it returned to her side and faced both the girls again. "Might. But Claire, you aren't exactly in the best...state to be jumping through a bullet-proof window. Alex is right, I don't know how much fire I can produce to break the window ...." The teenager sat back down on the floor, looking from Alex to Claire. "A flame needs oxygen to stay alight and if that plan doesn't work, we don't know how long we are going to be in here anyway."-The factory was labelled as abandoned- Katrina didn't want to bring down the mood, that would just make Claire's situation worse and she didn't know how bad her case was. Her mother had only been mildly claustrophobic. Her eyes moved down to her hand, not burnt or signed at all from the glass which traced the perimiter of the cell. Eventually, they reached the door and Katrina stood up again, walking over to it slowly. After a moment of staring at it, Katrina reached into her pocket to retrieve a thin pencil. She didn't have a clue what it was doing in there but it may help them out. Kneeling beside the door and the handle Claire had broken off, Katrina heated up her hand again before placing it on the lock. As the metal started to slowly, Katrina stuck the pencil in the slot, moving the metal out of the way. Removing both her hands and in doing so the pencil, Katrina let out a small sigh of relief. Getting a grip on the door edge and frame, the pencil now covered in a silvery metal, Katrina tried to push the two apart. As her arms gave up, the girl fell back onto her behind with a wince. Why was the world being so difficult recently?

Okay, so Claire’s plan had a few flaws, but that was a chance that she was willing to take, and had hoped that the other two girls trapped in the room would follow suit and spring into action. What she hadn’t banked on was the other two coming up with two very suitable reasons – which vexed Claire greatly – as to why they shouldn’t use her plan. Claire scowled, trying not to think about just how useless the other two were being. Okay, her plan wasn’t perfect, but did you see the other two come up with anything? Being responsible and seventeen really did get irritating some days. “Alright...but what happens if it gets too hot in here? We could all suffocate...and what if the window doesn't break? After all you said it's bullet-proof...what if fire and heat have no effect on it?” Alex’s high voice said. Half-hoping that Katrina would back up Claire, although this situation was far from a competition or game, Katrina followed Alex’s lead. "It...might work." Claire rolled her eyes as Katrina flexed her hand expertly, evidently seeing just how much fire she could conjure up from a small place with a limited oxygen supply. "Might. But Claire, you aren't exactly in the best...state to be jumping through a bullet-proof window. Alex is right, I don't know how much fire I can produce to break the window.” This irritated Claire. Just because she had a few irrational phobias didn’t mean she was completely useless. Katrina sank back down to the floor, her usual rationalism fading. “A flame needs oxygen to stay alight and if that plan doesn't work, we don't know how long we are going to be in here anyway."
Although it sounded insane, every word that Claire heard sounded more and more like an emotional cut. Her – well, her what-she’d-thought-to-be-well-thought-out plan – was being ripped to shreds by the other girls’ negativity. Vexed, Claire shook her head once more to get her bearings and tried to stand shakily on her teetering legs. If she had to prove to the other girls that she was stable enough to jump through glass, then she’d have to put up with more than a little discomfort. Looking absently at what Katrina was trying to do next to her, Claire noticed that Katrina was holding one of those thick artist’s pencils, and was jamming it in the lock whilst trying to melt the damned thing at the same time. Claire rolled her eyes again, her stability growing better by the minute. What a stupid idea. thought Claire. The pencil’s going to get stuck in the molten metal. Needless to say, Claire’s prediction came true. The pencil was trapped in the melted lock, and as Katrina tried to pull it out, she fell onto the floor in despair. Claire rolled her eyes for what seemed like the hundredth time. Her eyes were rolling like marbles. However, Claire did feel incredibly irritated. Katrina and Alex were in no state to criticize Claire’s plan if the extent of theirs was a pencil in a lock. Claire was a perfectionist, and had never taken criticism well ever since she was little. A little too old school, mused Claire. Tucking her hair behind her ear, she stared down at Katrina on the floor for a few seconds, and decided that something had to be done.
“Oh for god’s sake,” Claire said. ”If the extent of your plan is pencil-in-a-lock then I vote we go with mine. Sure, it’s risky, but it’s all we’ve got. If you want to get out of here, then let’s get on with this. If not, we’ll just die in here like obedient little dead things on dead pills.” Claire paused, to see if any of this was being taken in by either of the two girls. ”Katrina is perfectly capable of heating up the glass, even if it doesn’t melt. And I’m perfectly capable of jumping through that. I’ve been hit by a train and survived. This is just a sheet of glass. What’s the worst that could happen?” Trying not to forget about spunky Alex – who admittedly was being far from spunky on this occasion – Claire pondered on what to do about Alex. Surely if the head exposure in here got too hot, only two people would survive. ”The only flaw in this plan is what to do with Alex.” Claire said, frowning, her mind trying to think of ways to keep Alex safe. ”If the heat exposure in here gets too hot, then only two of us will survive...” Claire’s voice trailed off. Claire had lost so many people that were close to her in her life, and Alex was not going to join the ranks. ”But it’s not going to come to that, right? Any ideas?

alex thought about the idea claire had. it was good...but alex would eventually end up in the back corner, suffacating from the heat katrina was making...that is if the window wasn't as fragile for claire to break yet...as alex thought, the only thing that replayed more than once in her head was claire saying, 'If the heat exposure in here gets too hot, then only two of us will survive...' the sentance scared alex. she almost began to shiver a bit. what claire ment...what she said...that means the only two surviving would be katrina and claire..not alex and claire, not alex and katrina...katrina and claire. no alex....do to the fact that claire can regenerate and katrian is obviously already use to the fire and the heat...alex could only read minds which wouldn't do her any good in the whole surviving area. alex frowned....the fact that claire said it wasn't going to happen didn't really help her feelings go up a bit. not even a little.
"i have nothing...i guess that's all we have...we should just...try it..." she said quietly. the words were hard to get past alex's lips. she had a pretty big chance of dieing in the plan. she didn't want to die, especially not in this cell. but she didn't want to stay in the cell for the rest of her life. sacrifices had to be made to get out of this cell and alex was gonna make the biggest sacrifice anyone could make at this point. she stepped back, getting as far away as she could from the window. she looked at katrina. "do what you have to do." she said with a nod. she stayed as strong as she could. no crying was needed at this point. she'll cry when she's out of the cell and alive. she stood against the back wall, bracing herself for anything that would come to her or any of her friends in the same room. but she really wouldn't have to worry about them. at the moment, she was more worried about herself.
"i'll just...be back here." she nodded once again. she stared at claire and katrina waiting for the plan to set in motion. she waited, quietly and scared.

As Katrina stood, she glanced at Claire staring at her, who had obviously been watching her strange attempt to get them out of the the cell. It was an attempt, and it had been better than probably killing one of them. Little Miss Miracle Grow had just rolled her eyes, Katrina had lost count. "Oh for god's sake," she started to talk. "If the extent of your plan is pencil-in-a-lock then I vote we go with mine. Sure, it’s risky, but it’s all we’ve got. If you want to get out of here, then let’s get on with this. If not, we’ll just die in here like obedient little dead things on dead pills.” While Claire paused, it dawned on Katrina that Claire was taking the role of leader. She decided not to take offense at her 'plan'. It would be pointless, arguing more, they were just wasting more oxygen as time passed. The words ran through her head to process them, Katrina glanced at Alex, checking whether she was alright. Alex was the one at risk here, and even though they had just met, Claire was hopefully going to be right. It wasn't going to end at that. ”Katrina is perfectly capable of heating up the glass, even if it doesn’t melt. And I’m perfectly capable of jumping through that. I’ve been hit by a train and survived. This is just a sheet of glass. What’s the worst that could happen?” She had to be kidding about the train, but the again, Katrina had wathed her fall at least eighty feet to her 'death'. Katrina could mention a few things that could happen but Claire beat her to it. "The only flaw in this plan is what to do with Alex." -Bingo- a small voice in Katrina's head said. She looked back to Claire as she continued to speak, keeping her attention going. "If the heat exposure in here gets too hot, then only two of us will survive...” That would be herself and Claire. From what Claire said, Katrina would be able to survive the fire, which would be strange if the school was set on fire... "But it’s not going to come to that, right? Any ideas?"
It didn't seem like Katrina was going to have a say in the matter, but as she looked at Alex again it was clear that she was scared. At least no-one could read her mind, that's a bonus... Mind reading was a great power, but not in this situation. If she wasn't mistaken, Alex was keeping herself from shivering. She was scared...-Scared sh*tless.- Her thoughts echoed the words, but in a more honest way. Katrina watched her silently for a moment before the red head spoke. "I have nothing...I guess that's all we have...we should just...try it..." Her voice volume had changed. It was now almost a whisper and Katrina saw that she was finding it difficult to get the words out. None of them wanted to die, well Claire couldn't of course but Katrina and Alex were not even thinking of dying on entering the abandoned building. It would be the last thing you expected in a place like this. Alex stepped back, going as far away from the glass as possible before looking at Katrina. "Do what you have to do." she said with a small nod. She was now standing against the back all, bracing herself for what might come. I'll just...be back here." Katrina smiled at her gently, trying to be reasurring. -You'll get through this Alex, I promise.- Katrina added mentally. It would sound a bit weird if she said it aloud.
Glancing at Claire again, she gave her a smile as well before letting out a sigh. "We uh...might as well get this thing over and done with then..." Katrina regretted saying the word 'thing', that would make Alex seem even more scared, showing her point of view but then again, she could read their minds. She walked over to the glass panel at a steady pace and then placed her hand gently on the cool glass. The more oxygen they could keep, the better. Hopefully the two girls behind her weren't breathing excessively. Letting the flame appear in the palm of her hand again, Katrina made it as large and strong as possible, making the glass heat up as quickly as possible. As it did so, she could feel the glass softening and melting slightly under her hand. She moved her eyes from her hand to the large window, watching it, waiting for the right moment to tell Claire. "Okay...Claire, jump whenever you're ready. It was soft enough now, just for Claire to break it and land on the other side. Keeping the flame alight, she glanced back to Alex with her scarlet eyes, almost matching her hair to make sure she was alright. Being a pyro was annoying because you couldn't tell how hot the room was getting. If it was getting colder and to freezing point, that was an entirely different story...
